It's like the threshing scenes in Anna Karenina but without the literary merit

Ohio is just as hot and humid as I remember from when I was a kid. Despite this, I volunteered to help my dad do some work at the new house he just bought. It's definitely a fixer-upper, but it's got potential. I wished I lived closer, because I wouldn't mind helping fix it up. Any excuse to use a power tool. But today I just clipped the hedges and raked and cleared brush. Basically, I got sweaty. And I earned the right to feel a little self-righteous pride for working while on vacation. More importantly, I earned the privilege and pleasure of an ice-cold Mountain Dew.

All in a hard day's work, people. All in a hard day's work.
