Just like old times

It's funny how you don't realize how much you miss someone until you're with them. I had dinner tonight with a friend who I don't see that often, due to a move to the countryside and other factors including but not limited to life, liberty, and the pursuit of a degree. It's not like I don't normally talk a lot (yeah, I know you thought I was the shy, retiring type what with the blog and all), but tonight, I couldn't shut up. It was great. I mean, sure, she may have wanted to get a word in edgewise, but that didn't really stop me. We discussed my plans for the Great 29th Year, and how neither of us could believe that our youngest siblings were, in fact, no longer that young. And we ate yummy Italian food. (Sausage and peppers, people. Has a greater food combination ever been created? I think not.)

It was the perfect wrap-up to what has been a long, stressful, and frustrating week. Tomorrow is one of those clean-up days at work (and I have been promised birthday pie!), and then it is two weeks of sweet, sweet vacation. I'm hoping to regain some modicum of sanity whilst sleeping in and raking in the presents.
