Lucky 13

Unfortunately, Ocean's 13 wasn't that lucky. Sure, luckier than Ocean's 12, with that fun-sucking, puppy-kicking Catherine Zeta-Jones in it, but still nowhere as good as the first film. At least this one got back to the original in spirit and Vegas in location, and George Clooney was there so I could look at him, but all in all, it was pretty thin. And, as J.R. pointed out last night, there was never any sense that this was a caper they couldn't pull off. It didn't even seem that hard, really, just needlessly complicated and sometimes, just plain silly. I think my favorite scenes came from the brothers played by Casey Affleck and Scott Caan. Al Pacino was chewing scenery with the rest of the crew, but all in all, it was a lot of potential cool wasted.
