Variety

We went to see John Wesley Harding at the Tractor last night, and it wasn't quite what I was expecting, which was, essentially, a man and his guitar. (You know I'm a sucker for the singer/songwriters with their spare acoustic sets, people.) Instead, we got a rollicking talent revue, with spoken word (surprisingly funny, but only three poems, so it was kept to a minimum), comedy, some random-ass band, and John and various guests seriously rocking out. The bass player totally made me want to learn to play, but mostly so I can look cool/hot whilst slowly strumming a large instrument on stage. (It's kind of how I like to imagine myself whilst I play Rock Band, but with, you know, actual talent.)
