Sunrise, sunset

Ever have one of those days? You know, the ones where you question love, life, relationships, work, and your general reason for existing on the earth? No? Well, fuck you. You shouldn't talk to me and you definitely shouldn't watch Before Sunset, because it will make you think on all those things. Which is a good thing, usually, even if it does leave you with a lingering feeling of hopelessness and pointlessness because what if the one that got away was The One? Except that you know you're being a silly girl for even thinking of The One and especially for capitalizing it. But I can't help feeling that there are really only a few people in this world that you make a true connection with, and that means something, doesn't it? I don't know. The movie definitely didn't answer my questions, and many people find the idea of 80 minutes of two people just walking around and talking to be horrifying, but I loved it. Of course, I loved Before Sunrise, too, so you see where I'm coming from.

On the other hand, if you want to have absolutely no intellectual connection with your movie and you want zero questioning of whether you'll ever be truly happy, I highly recommend the second Bridget Jones. It was even flimsier than the first film, but it does give you the good feeling that no matter how "wobbly" your bits might be, you can still find true love with Mr. Darcy (aka the unbelievably hot Colin Firth).
