Old friends

I had to buy Careless in Red in hardback. I just had to. I had to know what happened next with Tommy, and Barbara, and everyone else in the Lynley series. Elizabeth George didn't disappoint, either, delivering a solid mystery (I actually figured this one out before the very end! That never happens!) and a believable continuation of the characters' storylines after the bomb that was dropped in the last book. I've loved this series since college, and it's been consistently good that whole time (unlike Cornwell or Grafton). I keep thinking I should watch the BBC productions of the books, but they've just done Havers so very, very wrong that I can't bring myself to watch. Now that I've got to wait again until the next book, though, I may just have to.
